
My name is Shannon Rivest, founder of Hawthorn Healing. I am a Certified Sound Practitioner, Reiki Master, and trauma informed healing facilitator.
My work is grounded in both science and intuition, blending sound healing, nervous system awareness, and compassionate presence with an understanding of the emotional body and energetic field. Through Hawthorn Healing, I create sound healing journeys, sound baths, and healing experiences designed to support nervous system regulation, emotional healing, and reconnection with self.
I am also the creator of the Hawthorn Healing YouTube channel, where I share sound healing journeys, sound baths, and educational resources supporting nervous system regulation, emotional healing, and personal growth.
Before stepping into this work, I spent five years as a Registered Veterinary Technician and over a decade in medical coding within a hospital setting. These environments showed me how deeply the body holds unprocessed emotion and how often our culture asks us to stay strong when what we really need is space to soften.
Over time, my own body began to speak. Burnout, numbness, and emotional exhaustion led me into a period of deep inner work, what many describe as a dark night of the soul, a time of deep inner unraveling and reorientation. Through inner child healing, somatic processing, shadow work, plant medicine, and vibrational therapies, I began reconnecting with the parts of myself I had set aside in order to cope and survive.
What I Learned Through That Journey Is This:
Healing is not about becoming someone better.
It is about returning to the self you abandoned to stay safe.
My work now is to offer a space where your system can unwind, where the body is allowed to release what it has held quietly for years, and where your inner voice can be heard again.
